A2 tear recovery with BPC-157: Fast healing but concerning side effects
Tore A2 pulley in January 2024 on moonboard dyno. Started BPC-157 on Feb 3: 250mcg injected subcutaneously in finger, twice daily (morning/night). Within 1 week felt significant A2 recovery, could hold 15lb tension block without bowstringing. Ultrasound showed grade 1 injury. Felt injury healing MUCH faster than previous 6+ month recoveries. By Feb 15 experienced side effects: severe finger swelling, fluid retention, difficulty with finger rolls. Light climbing at 3 weeks was surprisingly good - open hand painless, light crimping possible. Later developed concerning flexor tendon pain on extension. Ceased BPC-157, swelling disappeared but some flexor pain persists. Believes BPC helped rebuild tendon integrity faster but caused new lingering pains not present before.
